In the first year of architecture I learned the basics of drafting on paper. I learned architectural lettering, ways to shade, how to draw to scale, and much more. In the second year of architecture I learned the basics of AutoCAD. I used John Stine's book to guide me through AutoCAD to prepare me for the certification and to get me comfortable with it. Half way through the year, I started my first design project where I could make my dream house. The house I designed was a tiny house that could be transported by trailer on a pickup truck. We finished off the year with making a model of John Stine's residential house to 1"=20'. In the third year (my current year) I have worked on multiple design projects with partners. The projects include: revitalizing the Jacksonville Landing, planning a dryline along the San Sebastian River to protect against flooding in St. Augustine, and designing a space for parking day in Jacksonville. Next year, I plan to learn Revit and earn my certification for it. I hope to design more models in the 3D software.
Technology
In my first year of the Information Technology Academy at Bartram Trail High School I started off learning about web technologies. I used Adobe Dreamweaver and learned the basics of HTML coding. In my second year of the IT Academy I learned the basics of computer hardware and software. I had previous knowledge of computer hardware from building computers so I am very proficient in that aspect of computers. I learned the fundamentals of Windows operating system in my second year. In my third year (my current year) I am learning about databases. I have learned how to use SSMS and leaned SQL coding. The academy has partnered with CITI and we get to learn more about how to create, use, and maintain actual databases in the field. Next year I plan to learn more about programming and I will be taking AP Computer Science to further my interest in technology. I will be learning how to create and use Java script.
Scouts
I started Boy Scouts in 2013 and have held various leadership positions such as: Librarian, Webmaster, and Crew Leader on Philmont. My current rank in scouts in Life rank. During my time in Scouts, my service hours have helped various local organizations. We have performed many projects for the local Church that support our troop. I have volunteered at the local food bank by helping to organize the food pantry, distribute food to residents in need and with the upkeep of the exterior property. Over the past few years, I have developed many leadership skills. My next big civic project will be for my Eagle Scout Project within the next six months. I plan to achieve my Eagle rank in the next 4 months.
